The fourth industrial revolution and the academic rights of students.

It is now three years into the pandemic, the coronavirus started in 2019 according to various. The first reported case in South Africa was that of a couple that had returned from Italy. At that time Italy "January 2020" was the epicenter of the global outbreak of the highly infectious virus. By March 2020 President Cyril Ramaphosa declared that South Africa is to be in a state of emergency, the now known "the hard lockdown" virtually resulting in Universities, High Schools, Primary schools, Pre-Schools "Creche". All none essential establishments had to be closed down. As a means of protecting the population against the virus that had been taking people's lives all over the world. Considering South Africa is a third-world country like any African country. Enforcing a state of emergency was the only logical approach to saving the people's lives. By that time there were no vaccines available, countries and major pharmaceutical companies were in the process of testing and trialing the available vaccines to ensure that at least humanity is saved against the deadly virus. The pandemic ushered in an experience that humanity has never experienced before, others assuming that societies were dwindling to madness and horror. An apocalyptic aura was hovering over humanity and further denting the global economy by a margin that would ring an amber alert of a looming global recession that would evoke the global economical meltdown that dates back to 2008 era or even to the days of the great depression of 1929. In light of the fact that the pandemic has widened the gap between the haves and the have nots. Furthering the plight of many people into the gutters of misery. A Dickensian feeling lingers in this time and space where the rights of the people have and will and shall be exploited all for the betterment of the haves. Any sense of sanity nor humanness becomes a figment of any imagination. Thus one is drifted into trying to interrogate the time that we have been thrust into by the pandemic as it further exposes the vulnerability of the have nots, who make up the majority of society.

"The rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened" John F. Kennedy.

Covid19 ushered the globe into a void that many are virgin about it and do not understand the terms and conditions that come along with the development of human societies. As humanity is at cross paths with technology and humanity the two infantile entities do not understand each other yet are excited about each other. The lack of knowledge and understanding behind the dos and don'ts of each sphere may, has resulted in conflicts between the ajar worlds. The marketing tag by major cooperations that are determined to extract the last penny in many peoples wallets such as, "all in the comfort of your home, with just one click and it's done or save your time by just following the easy steps". The calls for action have drafted many into the psychology of accessing convenience at the comfort of their homes, or places of relaxation. Indeed the past two decades before the pandemic have been an exhausting window. Where senseless wars have taken place, miners were murdered by the state for asking an increase in their salaries after tax R12.500, students mauled, assaulted, abused, and arrested for requesting to be accorded their right to education at that same breath to be treated with at least some dignity attached in being a student. Sooner or later something would be thrown into the works just to at least give humanity and its society some time to breathe, reflect, and reboot. In this case, one would suggest that the Covid19 was the catalyst that has resulted in humanity taking a break in figuring out its status at this time.

Observing the calls for action mentioned in the paragraph above one can observe that many of the citizens of the globe were shepherded into a space of a sedentary lifestyle. A lifestyle that they have never been before only granted by firms such as "WeWork" had predicted the future of work, the future of academics. The idea of being in a flexible shared workspace for education, cooperation, even retail had to be fashioned in the spaces that allow the needs of the time. In such a case one can appropriate and appreciate the impact of the firm. That it had predicted the future a decade before the pandemic ever set foot unto humanity "they were ahead of the curve". The need to be in a comfortable space led many people to be woven themselves to become one with technology.

One of the intrinsic intimate uses of artificial intelligence is "A.I." has brought families together, through the incorporation of various platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft workplace, Google meets, Skype among other platforms that are available for human use. In light of the pandemic and its devastating impact on many people's lives. Many families were being ripped apart due to the human harmful impacts of the Covid19 pandemic that has impacted the basic human need of human connection. The economic needs of bridging the financial gap between the affluent members of the community and their family members had been adversely impacted negatively by the virus due to the demands of staving off poverty from the family household. Therefore to some, greater extent families were affected through the economic needs of keeping the family together at the same time meeting the demands of work.

Paying attention to the aggressive system that had imposed many families into involuntary servitude, where human beings were morphed into zombies, virtually becoming the walking dead. In a way, the virus came at a time where there was a need to reset the polarised communication within the nucleus family members. At the same time acknowledging that during this time period of the covid19 pandemic the reports and numbers of reported cases of gender-based violence resulted in women and children being subjected to violence from their intimate partners. Looking at the other side of the pandemic which to some another extent. The virus' impact on families was positive, it allowed the population to connect and appreciate the simple things that define humanity. It might be all glitz and glamourous that the human being is reconnecting with their other side that is their social side. However, as society hastily embraces the fourth industrial revolution "A.I." a glaring reality stares into the faces of many that is what can be termed as technological apartheid. The great rift between the haves and have nots has selfishly led to many people struggling to access education. In light of the progress and processes of embracing technology "A.I." there are a string of rhetorical questions that come to the fray, food for thought process for the reader, "Does humanity understand the intrinsic, intimate impact of this new normal, is humanity prepared to embrace the positives and negatives that come along with the new normal, is humanity prepared to embrace the terms and conditions that are coming along with technology?". The rhetorical questions are meant to evoke the reader to be part and parcel of this cross-examination of understanding the long haul that humanity is yoking itself to, it can be likened to a tactical nuclear bomb that is being detonated for the first time and no one understands completely the extent of the detonation the immediate and long term impacts of technology.  There is a hypothesis that can be submitted into this essay. The hypothesis is called, AfroRealism, "a state of being that seeks to break down the position of the African with the determination of figuring out how the African may-or can maneuver, navigate, comprehend at the same time adhering, acknowledging to the past, present and future. In order to understand Artificial Intelligence's position in the world one needs to take a glance at the word "access". The word sounds simple but it carries value and weight it is a matter of perspectives that have been apprehended and comprehended as they are expected to make sense. A simple word carries void, and meaning as the life of most people in the have nots bracket is cheap. As cheap as the life of a negro slave at a slave market in New Orleans on Black Friday. The rolling out and embracing of the A.I.  in this time and space one is brought to the fray and interrogate the integration of A.I. within the educational system it is imperative to probe its efficacy, vitality, and shortcomings in our parts of the globe. If we are to measure society against the sustainable development goal under the banner of education.

"Education is for improving the lives of others"Marian Wright Edelman

Institutions of higher learning are gradually gravitating from being institutions of education, knowledge incubation, and problem-solving. To become enterprises that have solely focused on becoming centers of profit-making and assembly points where the machine "industry" salivates for the latest efficient model on the market for the system to perform exponentially without any need of upgrading it or forking out a lot of money to inhouse improvements. Therefore schools of thought in apprehending the means of production have been migrated to become spheres of profit-making other than knowledge and problem-solving centers. This is largely affected by the ever-diminishing financial support that centers of knowledge heavily rely upon the government to provide. As a means of protecting the culture of excellence, a capitalistic approach has been implemented just assure the quality of the same services. That the gatekeepers expect centers of higher learning are expected to be granted by any other organization. The persons that then should be direct beneficiaries are not seen as students or human beings, they are seen appreciated and acknowledged as another money-making guineapig that is meant to perpetuate and maintain the hard line of classicism amongst students. Institutions becoming enterprises has resulted rather molded rather morphed institutions into becoming assembly lines. Where their income generation is through knowledge manufactured, refined, packaged, condensed, commodified, knowledge or information where it has become a crucial, lucrative industry. Top brands and companies are willing to break their piggy banks for the research articles dished by institutions of higher learning which has been produced by the student that has slaved for more than a year to produce one body of work that is then sold off to the highest bidder. The harvesting of knowledge is precious, lucrative, and vital for the capitalistic industry to thrive. Understanding the reality of "the South African reality" the country is founded and on a capitalistic foundation. The architects of the ism had to pacify and eliminate all prospects that threatened the apparatus that was established and was designed only to serve a minority at the expense of the majority that is and was fashioned to be the worker and the elites are the brains of the system. This then is witnessed and translated to the cause and reality on the ground that many of the black community stay in defunct areas where there is no proper sanitation and an absence of basic service deliveries. While the key drivers "owners of the means of production" live in lavish barbed wired estates that are maintained by the architects of this merciless system. To safeguard their gains a few shares were parted away with in order to create a bottleneck system that creates a crab in the bucket system "we fight for the bread crumbs, while they feast on loaves of bread".

The one that does not have the means of access can only just imagine how it is like to have access to the means of production. Encapsulating the gross reality of the ones who have access to funds and resources without pussyfooting are the direct descendants of the already established apartheid system, then the "clever blacks" or "black bourgeoisie" are then incorporated into the system all in all for the benefit of the main chief architects to the system that has been designed to exploit, expropriate and diminish the value of the majority. The ones that have raised, and maintained the status quo. The black bourgeoisie might or might not be conscious of the realities that the black majority is experiencing. That they are failing to gain access to the much-commodified education because of financial difficulties based on their experiences as a group through a polarised fractured history of being black in South Africa. Thus one can note that education is gradually or has been gradually become an elitist opportunity to gain access to it.

To serve the "haves" systematically excluding the "have nots", the resulting impact on students due to the issues that revolve around access. The "have nots", end up being excluded from the commercialized, glamourized, and superficialized academic institutions. Due to the fact that some or many of the highly regarded institutions of higher learning that are embedded in their DNA to serve the minority they willingly ignore the plight of students "have nots". This then exposes the student to the harsh elements of the ever exploitative social environment, where a person's being is judged and weighed against what they materially own as compared to the potential that they have. In essence, if you are a negro the system does not give a damn about what you are going through all it wants is the money and you can come to school. If you are a negro go get the money paid and then come to school. Understanding the nature of an already inherited system means the psychology of administration best favors the fairer-skinned. This reasoning is based according to the history of many institutions that are founded along racial lines the same concept that was established with colonialism and whose effects are felt to this day through many apparatus that have been designed to acknowledge the existing disparities and they are expected to fulfill the established mandate that governs systems.

"...there is no true social revolution without the liberation of women..." Thomas Isadore Sankara

Access to education is an integral, fundamental right for any person to be able to receive a basic education even to as far as higher tertiary education. Education at least equips the person with the necessary life skills of problem-solving and being able to solve their own problems where the subject has the skills to be able to come up with improvements that solve their respective social problems. In the era of the "Black Lives Matter Movement," it can be noted that the nation of black people is victims of a vindictive, passive-aggressive system. A world where Mandela is the one that speaks on your behalf for a student to be able to pursue their desired careers. Society arrives at a juncture where there is an imbalance in wealth globally versus the imbalance in the means of access to education. Which is the inception of the A.I. system where institutions of higher learning are using the tag as a marketing strategy to attract would-be stakeholders. Players that seek to be associated by the institutions of higher learning. Holistically embracing the facts of the matter. There should be change, there must be change, however, change that does not regard the rights of the other becomes a thorn of contention to the other that has been disadvantaged by the system itself. This then results in innumerable unwanted changes to people's lives, some changes are for the good and others are for the worst. The changes come at a cost, a heavy price that results in the diminishing of the rights of the other. The adoption and incorporation of the Online education system "Hybrid learning" come with a heavy price when it comes to the rights of the haves and have nots.

In the light of the plight that has humanity has been tucked into by the rise of the virus. It is of thought concern to note that the ineptitude of today's economic great divide, has subjugated many into the doldrums inequality. Where a supposedly basic commodity has been catapulted to become an exclusive commodity, therefore, furthering the inequality hammering the negro community into the cesspool of underdevelopment due to the historical effects of systems such apartheid, colonialism, and systemic nepotism and corruption. A majority of black students rely heavily on bursaries and support from the state. In the wake of covid19 the global economy has shrunk this then means the local economy has further shrunk by a significant margin. Forcing companies to downsize, and liquidate some of their operations in order to stay afloat. Therefore the persons that solely rely on these initiatives are left in the cold to fend for themselves if not they are forced to drop out of school midway. The system on paper of accomodating A.I. into universities on one hand it is revolutionary a testament to the resilience that humanity has over anything that would be thrown at them. On the other hand, humanity has been taken ten steps backward in the wake of the deadly virus. Where subsidies for the have nots have been cut off, performance rates have been raised astronomically. If the student does not meet the criteria is then kicked out of the system. Again the system does not seem to acknowledge to investigate the circumstances that have adversely affected the student. As many or the majority of students come from rural areas and townships. Accessing a safe conducive environment that encourages academic performance becomes an Achilles heel for many black students that have been affected by this system. To some, an extent can be interpreted as a racist system for a majority that is facing the system are black as they are at the mercy of the elements. One such example would be the load-shedding crisis that rocked South Africa in the later parts of the year, the July 2021 Free Jacob Zuma protests that largely affected townships.

The global migration into embracing the A.I. is a welcome migration globally noting. Be that as it may in the third world country biosphere that is not the case. In such parts of the world, where they have created the first world, these parts are still as of yet to do away with systemic corruption, colonial inherited historical debts, offshore accounts holders, rigged trade deals, a porous legal fraternity, and inherited poverty. The above-signaled factors have an adverse on the lives of many students in failing to return to school the following year, due to a lack of financial support. At the same time shedding into light the student themselves does not have skills that they may capitalize on during their spare time in order to at least fund their education. If they do have such talents the market space is a polarised one that has resulted in most students being exploited by industry heads.

The fourth industrial revolution and the academic rights of many students have come at a time when the student is shunned and not given the opportunity to advocate for themselves as the system has given the gatekeepers the leverage to ignore, disband and diminish the rights of students. In some cases citing quite trivial excuses that leave one scratching their inn confusion because the excuses submitted would leave a bitter taste in the mouth. The fourth industrial revolution once again raised the concerns of the apartheid system that in some thought that it is gone. In reality, it can be felt observed, and noticed through the A.I. world. Dating back to the apartheid era there were two types of education rather a parallel education was a system it has or it was designed to create persons that control the system and the persons that work for the system "the worker bees that keep the lights on".

A rigged system, reflecting back at the impacts of the system at hand one gets to acknowledge that a typical Bantu education system was formulated to create persons that were heavily dependent on the system to survive. In order to survive the capitalistic system that was designed by the forefathers and foremothers of the haves. The have nots' generation keeps the system alive and for the sake of surviving the same culture is enforced inculcated into a diminished horizon that only aspires to achieve not very much.

"the negro child has been conditioned to understand that it only must aspire to have a piece of paper and then have a job, buy a house, have a car, get married, and live happily ever after. It is not allowed to dream, aspire, imagine. It can imagine but not too much it is made to believe that it can only become self-made through handouts. Handouts that diminish depreciate their value. Other than being told to dream, aspire have ambition, explore experiment and become whatever you want you to have the decision to become the person you desire to become. Your inner talents can help you to achieve whatever you want."

As institutions embrace the A.I. with its numb approach to educational administration the system is programmed with the coder that does not consider the aggressive impacts that the system carries. What one is suggesting before the fray is that there is ought to be a clear communication line between the ends, "the administration and the students". Humanity is being replaced by a synthetic eco-system that is manipulated and structured in accordance with how the haves understand how the global village is revolving towards its undisclosed destination. In one's observation, A.I. stands in accordance with the foundations of the one-per-cent of people that are pursuing the accumulation of wealth. At the expense of the many as they are insignificant to the cause and purpose they are mere pawns that must deliver all to the land of milk and honey "the one-per-cent".

The introduction of the A.I. in the twenties era of the twenty-first century can juxtapose to the same era of the Christian crusades and colonization period. The haves understands that the psychological purging of states shall result in the regression of the colonized people. The parallel suggestion may be linked to the contemporary situation that society is going through the only difference is that to some extent it is not a race situation. It is a class situation, however, acknowledging that the pool of the haves is made up of descendants who are still reaping the efforts of their ancestors. The patriarchs and matriarchs devised, structured, and orchestrated a system that best benefits them because it is a space meant for them exclusively. The global village "third world states" are mere passengers in the system. In understanding the structure of this world one is brought to understand that the system is not meant for all. It is meant for some, It can be noted that when it comes to the administering of education to the masses parts of the tertiary spaces the great divide is understood through the lens of technology and how the haves have full access to the privileges offered by technology and the have nots have to go through hell, through Hades' layer, via the belly of the Brazen only to be told they are not good enough. Technology access needs to be investigated and sustainable means and ways have to be invested to safeguard the gains at the same time reaching out to the dark corners of society to at least provide access to education for all.

It is time for Cecil John Rhodes to relocate somewhere away from Matopos.

 The Cecil John Rhodes dilemma

Zimbabwe a nation caught up in a whirlwind of madness, coupled by a barrage of madness. Where the nation has been caught up in a state of confusion, underdevelopment, and irresponsible leadership. However, simultaneously going through a passage of a series of unfortunate events. The reasoning behind might be anchored on the passages of time. In that one means that there are particular unexplainable reasons that a community should pass through in order for there to a history that defines the people who they are, why they are and what they are. Thence one is drawn to trek back and try to understand the reasoning as to the fact that the nation has been brought to a state of underdevelopment for more than forty-decades of an illusion of sovereignty. Be that as it may, it can be appreciated that she "Zimbabwe" is a victim of internal and external series' of unfortunate events that have driven her to the state of apathy that she is experiencing in this time and space. However, the solutions are there and they are watertight through the exploring of various themes and ideas. Let it be acknowledged that Zimbabwe belongs to everyone who has the best interests for the country. However, the gains of the revolution and those who sacrificed for the liberty of Zimbabwe their efforts must and should not die in vain they should be kept and safeguarded with everyone who resides within the bounds of Zimbabwe. Thus the revolutionary mantra must not be concentrated in one section of society it must be spread equally and equitably to everyone who has a progressive appreciation for the country "Zimbabwe". Thus one embraces the fact that Zimbabwe belongs to everyone not a pod of entitled geriatrics who are pursuing in keeping a status quo that was left by Ian Smith and his cronies. That is not what it means to be Zimbabwean.

It is an appalling realisation that a country that claims that she has reached forty years of independence and does not have a working vibrant black-led economy, "when the author mentions the following black-led economy the author is buttressing his assertion on the point that anyone irregardless of their race orientation or classification and has the best interests of Zimbabwe at heart and desires like fire to see Zimbabwe realise her untapped potential in any sector. This assertion bases on the point that Zimbabwe is a diverse nation and has Zimbabweans of racial backgrounds thence in the authors view they fall into the blanket category which is the black-led economy".

Pardon the tangent, It is imperative to appreciate that Bob Marley once sang the following lyrics, "Everymen gotta right to decide their own destiny, And in this judgement, there is no partiality" the reggae icon further sings in another song, the following lyrics, "If you know your HISTORY then you would know where you're coming from". With the acquired arsenal from the reggae icon, this allows the author to submit his reasoning for it is hammered by a figure of authority within the passages of history.

What is the Matopos hill?

The hills are a geographical feature located in the southern part of Zimbabwe now Bulawayo. It was formed over 2 billion years ago with granite being forced to the surface. Through erosion over the passage of time. The geographical phenomenon was formed. Drifting away from the geography lecture of Matopos, landing to the historicity of the hills. This includes folklore and significance of the hills. This leads one to understand what are the hills. According to Historians; Matopos Hills, are the home of the spirits of departed Ndebele Chiefs. The Hills contain gigantic caves this include Bambata, Nswatugi, and Silozwane. The caves have a vast array of KhoiKhoi paintings and there are Stone and Iron Age archaeological sites. The scenic view of the World Hill or Malindidzimu where Cecil John Rhodes and others are buried. Finally, in 2003, the Matopo Hills was made a World Heritage Site.

The Cecil John Rhodes dilemma Continued:

Malindidzimu it means Place of Benevolent Spirits, transversing further. Cecil John Rhodes was buried in an odd fashion one would note it as a dramatic burial site. Rhodes' tomb is emphasised in a solid rock almost a hundred years ago and topped with a simply inscribed slab of bronze.  The plaque read, "Here lie the remains of Cecil John Rhodes", understanding the significance of the Hills. One needs to start from the name of the cite where the colonialist is resting. Malindidzimu means Place of Benevolent Spirits, taking a look at Cecil John Rhodes' exploits one can note that he was colonialist who has one agenda and that agenda was controlling the livelihood of a particular group of people. This means plundering, pillaging, raping the people of that particular piece of land. In this case Zimbabwe. Thence him being buried at Malindidzimu, the place of Benevolent spirits. The critical question that would bubble to the surface is what is benevolent of Rhodes' actions to the black nation of Zimbabwe? Thence one gets to view that the location of the illegal immigrants resting place does not warrant him to rest there among the ancient Ndebele Kings who are resting at Malindidzimu. Understanding the Rhodes one, one needs to trace his approach to control the Ndebele and Shona, people. Firstly he was an economic assassin by that he took over the lands of the Shona and Ndebele people place them in concentration camps. Instruct them that they shall pay taxes based on the possessions that they had meaning the colonised people were told to pay taxes for their house's, cows, chicken and even to lengths the number of family members that were at the homestead. In that sense they expect the families to pay their taxes with money not tribute with money. Who ow money the Whiteman who needed people to farm their farms, mine, cook etc. This then meant that the man of the house now forced to go and work for the Whiteman leaving his family so that he may not be taken to court tried for not paying the state. In order to see his family leaving a comfortable life in the new Rhodesia. This then led to the creation of places such as Mbabre the Mbare histels that only housed the men who would work in the city Salsbury. Diving deeper with the analysis it can and must be acknowledged Africans we are spiritual beings we connect with our ancestors through dreams, trans-state. That was seen as demonic by the white missionaries. In which, to a reasonable extent it was not demonic. It is how we worshipped and communicated with ancestors that is the reason why there were persons such as Chaminuka, Nehanda Charwe Nyakasikana, Kaguvi, Mukwati, within the Shona/Zezuru community. The persons in mention were spirit mediums. It is imperative to acknowledge that the African community as a race we are spiritual beings we are in tune with our creator. Thus we have people in the arts industry who in their unique way of communicating they are direct receivers what our creator has to communicate. It takes one to take a step back and listen attentively what is being communicated then and there one will be able to discern the truth that needs to medium to interpret one's purpose. This then means that is African Traditional Religion which is a way of life for most Africans across the continent. The way we eat, interact, communicate it is all African Traditional Religion. The problem then when a community is faced by an alien culture this then results in the disharmony that our communities are experiencing to this day. What is being referred to as disharmony in society is the toxic gender-based violence that women in our communities are exposed to by their male counterparts. Children being rapped by their primary caregivers, xenophobic violence that people from different nations are exposed to by the vicious visceral violence that they are exposed to. Though admittingly there are unscrupulous persons within the foreign nationals community who are up to no good, a reality that one has to embrace though pricky as the quails of a porcupine that is the nature of a human being it has the good and the bad. Within the Ndebele nation, Ntabazinduna was the place where the nation interacted with their deity. Who to one's divinity understanding it is the same deity that Shona/Zezuru people understand as Mwari/Musikavanhu. This then means that their deity uNkulunkulu would choose a particularly worthy candidate upon the day of the ceremony to communicate with his people. The dynamic universalism of deities, this is when a deity elects a candidate to stand and speak form him upon one's observation as to why within the Ndebele nation there are no documented spirit mediums (though this school of thought is still weighted and researched and critiqued and is open for correction for the benefit of the reader of this article).

Cascading further with this paper it must be acknowledged that Cecil John Rhodes, when tends to apply the twenty-first-century lenses. Upon the status of immigration, the colonialist was and is an illegal immigrant and like any other immigrant who does not have clear paperwork done upon them even posthumously, they can be classified as an immigrant. This argument is based on the fact by that time, in order for one to be within any territory that has people who are already domiciled within the area one needs to give the persons "original owners of the lands" that they are within the territory for a designated time and if it needs be if they find the place in their liking they seek permission to stay within the bounds of the lands. This then means that person who would have decided to be part of the community must then abide by the laws of the land. In the case of Cecil John Rhodes and his posey, they did not have those intentions. Their intentions were to dominate topple the already existing ecosystem and transplant the British ecosystem within the territory of their choice in this case current Zimbabwe. This then draws one to acknowledge with no shadow of remorse nor respect of pointing out that Cecil John Rhodes along with his posey they were illegal immigrants and then being buried at sacred places such as Matopos it is a cultural violation and in the quest of saving the identity of the people and rewriting the chapters of colonialism like any other sovereign territory that is pursuing self-determination persons such as Cecil John Rhodes they must be removed from sacred lands such as Matopos. It is the same submission that one would note that the faces of the American presidents that were carved on Mount Rushmore are an insult to the Native American community. If one has to note how the Native American community has spiralled into disarray, where alcoholism is rife, excessive gambling and violence within their communities. In taking a step back some of the problems that such communities are going through can be hinged along the grounds of reasoning that sacred lands such as Mount Rushmore and Matopos are not respected. Thus it is the same context that can be applied within the Zimbabwean narrative that persons such as Cecil John Rhodes are still sleeping on sacred lands. The regime of Ian Smith allowed him to stay there, the regime of Robert Mugabe allowed him to stay there not sure this regime are they going to allow Cecil John Rhodes to stay there only time will tell. Furthermore the reasoning as to why people must claim back their lands and rewrite the chapters of history and pursue self-determination like any other territory that lives and breaths under the sun. It births a culture of responsibility within one, it inculcates the culture of accountability in one a subject that is alien within the African community. In that, this cascades into the next point of discussion within this article. The point anchors on understanding as to how, and why there are a lot of loopholes within Aft=rican states whereby gross irresponsibility and selfishness has been treated as if it is nothing within any territory when in reality it is the lowest level of human societal decay. In this case, one must appreciate that saved landmarks such as Mosi-oa-tunya must exhibit the identity of her children who occupy the territory, not an identity that is likened by colonial masters or Matopos where a cultural assassin still lies in state. Zimbabwe since 1982 to this date has been plagued by gross governance that has overseen the demise of her own currency where her currency was infected by inflation it was driven to evaporation being obliterated from the face of the earth people becoming trillionaires overnight, maybe that is what they meant when they harkened and embarked by anchoring on freedom for all and allowing people to become trillionaires (pardon the sarcasm it is intentional). Zimbabwe is territory locked in a deadlock constantly baptised in the cesspool of redundant and confusion where the beginning and progress is nowhere in sight the nation is on autopilot mode since 1982.

Gukurahundi it happened and those who were responsible for the atrocious deed are dying and going to their graves knowing what they did was wrong, some are hiding behind the fact that they have made to control the inquisition. This leads to the whole commission to be biased because the chief architects of the massacre are the drivers of the haulage truck of truth thus this then means another Truth and Reconciliation Commission is afoot within Zimbabwe this means that the puss oozing wounds will forever be oozing their vile stench of democratic decay. In as much as mainstream nd state media would like to note that it was a clash between two political fronts Zapu and Zanu, others are saying it was Shona people versus Ndebele people who were fighting among themselves. The late Mugabe had full control of the infamous fifth brigade which means it is him and cronies who wanted to quail the group of soldiers who were threatening the existence of Zimbabwe. The problem that then arises is then when mainstream media spread disinformation by noting that it was Ndebele versus Shona people. In ones view that is not the case. In one's interpretation, the atrocity is that the future of sovereign state was threatened and the powers that be saw to deploy the fifth brigade to save the nation in their view at that time they saw that aggression was necessary. Like any other nation that is seeking to chart its way, out moments of madness do occur. The bone of contention would be that not coming clean and stating honest reasons as to why the aggression as done. This then leads to misinformation within the circles of society, this then further leads to a rift within a people who are proud yo hail from Zimbabwe being accountable is important for people in public offices. The failure to acknowledge that in the name of protecting a sovereign state necessary steps of aggression had to be taken to safeguard the burgeoning nation. Though pockets of society would dispute for the call of justice if one speaks the truth honestly sooner or later people will understand, they might or might not understand but as an office-bearer one would have done their part and moved onto the next. What this does is that pockets of resistance will be quailed and would be splinter groups would not have something to hold on to as a source of inspiration in the quest to achieve an audacious task to break the nation in two which is not be given room to rear its head.

The lacklustre response by those in power to lead the way in doing what is correct in the eyes of the masses their lies that shatter through their teeth comes to the public by their actions. Digging deeper with the assertion one understands through the actions of the leaders for instance the way the coronavirus situation is being handled. Within the territory, the availability of PPE's in public hospitals is close to none. Upon authoring this article it is reported that sixty nurses have contracted the Coronavirus. The stimulus package that is meant to support vulnerable families to this date has not been made available for vulnerable families. Thus, one is drawn to appreciate the stark reality of mentioning that the political, military elite and oligarchs are the ones who are living in safety the rest of the nation is in a state of "each men for themselves and God for us all..".  This reasoning draws one to gravitate to the pointer that such careless leadership has been permitted because sacred landmarks are not respected. Thus in as much as the tomb of the colonialists is a tourist attraction site, it brings in the much needed foreign currency the country desperately needs. Zimbabwe does not have access to any financial institutions as it is blacklisted because the government has not been serious in servicing the debts that it has accrued over the years. Be that as it may as a point of clarity some of the debts that the nation is going through including other African nations they are inherited debts. Thus financial institutions should see to it that there is a revision on where the debts should and where should they start. The debts inherited from colonial masters should be scrapped off. They are an impediment to the growth of African countries the likes of Zimbabwe. However on the other hand Zimbabwe is in debt because of maladministration. Corrupt activities were given the blind eye by the elected officials who they too have to be held accountable for their gross irresponsibility in which they oversaw the demise of the nation. Yet, again one is drawn to pinpoint to one of the many reasons that have brought Zimbabwe to her current state and that is that persons such as Cecil John Rhodes is still sleeping on sacred grounds. Indeed what is one hinting towards to without pussyfooting or hiding behind the pinky finger is that maybe the creator of the lands of Zimbabwe is not pleased by the fact that a person whom they do not recognise as their own is not one of their sons and has been buried on sacred grounds surely they will turn their backs against their own children until they figure out where is the problem coming from. In one's observation and suggestion is that the nation is embroiled in this never-ending madness because Cecil John Rhodes is sleeping on sacred lands and he has to be removed maybe there would be a moment of sanity, so as the statue of David Livingstone that is Mosi-oa-tunya that too has to be removed for the sake of owning Zimbabwe's destiny and reclaiming our lands from the people who used to run our lands maybe there would be clarity in the conscience of what is needed to be done and such issues as Gukurahundi among others are taken and treated with great respect and maybe the nation might be able to weave herself out of the murky mud grounds she has been lodge in for very long time and this decade in one's observation the ripe decade to claim a cultural evolution.  The failure to remove or to exhume Cecil John Rhodes it, unfortunately, a pacifism system that dismantles and undermines the rights of apple. This then leads to the people to be manipulated and be bullied by the already system that is antagonistic to the black people then the system that was established by the late statements. Thus the failure or reluctance to remove Cecil John Rhodes can be interpreted that the gatekeepers appreciate being colonised by the former masters who they claim they dismantled in 1980. Reasoning that can substantiate the point can be that the government offered to compensate the British Government the first critique would be where is the money coming from, who is paying or servicing the bill, why is Zimbabwean government being arm-twisted and bullied by another state that has for the record has accumulated wealth from taxing and bullying other sovereign states. The pacifism can be hinted towards the now removal of Cecil John Rhodes on sacred grounds. Matopos is a citadel of cultural identity for anyone who hails from Zimbabwe and a recognised landmark in Africa and in the same mood of respecting places such as the Louvre of France, The Great walls of China, The Great City of Timbuktu the same respect must be given to Matopos and anything that does not resemble the original custodians of the lands should be removed for the sake of keeping the remaining identity of the people intact. In the energy of recognising black lives so as heritage sites matter so as its people matter.

Indeed Zimbabwe is not a vacuum state it has people who are direct descendants of the pioneers and many of them have integrated themselves within the Zimbabwean community. Many of them have contributed greatly to the nation across all platforms of the industry. Many do not want to be associated by the murky muddled history that their forefathers displayed in Zimbabwe, many yearn to be part of the new Zimbabwe a Zimbabwe that brings all races together a Zimbabwe settles the differences of the past and are looking forward to a brighter future where the custodians of the lands should live together in peace. This means they too should subscribe to the school of thought that Matopos is sacred grounds and the remains of Cecil John Rhodes must be removed from where they are given the almost cultural assassination attempt the late colonialists almost accomplished. As the saying goes "When you are in Rome, you do what the Romans do" likewise "When you are in Zimbabwe you do what the Zimbabweans do". If the French on 05 May 1789 decided to do away with the aristocratic system that was holding them back. They revised everything that does tell the peoples history by removing every bit of Franco aristocratic resemblance in place with their "the peoples" identity thus after some seasons of upheavals and necessary tours they found their footing and they successfully birthed their own republic. As the Zimbabwean who is in pursuit of cultural liberation. Where landmarks that are insulting to the custodians of the lands must remove such infidels where they are laying they too must be removed. This also mentions the statue of David Livingstone it must be removed and placed somewhere else. Thus, this further means that the town of Victoria falls must be renamed to her original name that resembles the falls. The suggested name would be Mosi-oa-tunya from Victoria falls.

In any nations pursuit for independence there comes at a time in one's mindset that they should pay attention that culture is important than money. In essence, this means that the tourism association claims that the tomb of the colonialist attracts tourists. The tourists themselves are conscious people they will understand that sacred lands must be respected and they will respect the Zimbabweans decision of removing the Rhodes remains and placing somewhere else.

Understanding and appreciating that Rhodes can be viewed as a Zimbabwean by defacto, it is imperative that as a historical relic his contribution to the history of the nation, though negative, he too extended a role in carving Zimbabwe what it is today. Hence in any humane way in ones view he deserves to be treated with respect like any other person whether alive or dead. Thus since Zimbabwe is circular state the exhuming process must be dealt in a respectful manner where the custodians of different faiths are borough together to oversee the removal of Rhodes. If it is to seek the assistance of the Anglican Church to lead the process may the process be led. The choosing of the Anglican church is that the Anglican Church originates from England meaning they have a say in the removal of Rhodes. Then the Chief who has custody of lands that include Matopos must then cleanse the lands to make them whole again. Understanding that there shall be a gap where Rhodes used to occupy since Matopos hills are located in Matebeleland. The people of Matebeleland must then choose for themselves the greatest sculptor who must sculpt something that represents the people of Matabeleland and it includes the rest of the people of Zimbabwe. So as to quash any possibilities of people who will think that they were excluded.

Assuming that the colonialist has been exhumed what is the next step, the next step in ones view it is twofold. The first option would be depart him to where he came from for he has nothing good appreciate for he is a blight that brought pain and suffering to the people of Zimbabwe in many facets than one; for example, he is a cultural assassin. Which in turn it might spark another diplomatic subtle tug of war between Britain and Zimbabwe. Furthermore, Zimbabwe does not have money to waste in sending remains to where they came from, thence that idea can be put aside and take the other. The second idea would be that Cecil John Rhodes can be buried at the National Heroes Acre. The reason being the Acre is a historical landmark of those who contributed to the History of Zimbabwe. Some who are buried there are part and parcel in the Gukurahundi massacre still they are sleeping at the Acre hence no one is perfect. In as much Rhodes has a marred past he too played a role in defining what Zimbabwe is today. Hence in ones view he too must be buried there. His burial at that landmark befits as a landmark to note that Zimbabweans are one and in our differences, we move together and find a common ground in our differences. The same treatment that a Hero is given so too must Cecil John Rhodes must be given. Cecil John Rhodes burial at the Heroes Acre also signifies that the white community of Zimbabwe that has been hurried and hounded and traumatised by the regime are also included within the nation called Zimbabwe this can serve as an inspiration that as long as one has the passport, identity card of Zimbabwe. Has the same Vission, Mission and Ambition to contribute to the growth of Zimbabwe so be it. Zimbabwe needs as many skilled people as possible where we all heave-ho at the same time in different spheres. One people, One Zimbabwe.

In conclusion, it is safe to note that the remains of Cecil John Rhodes must be removed so that Zimbabwe and her daughters and sons. May be able to move forward, sacred cultural lands marks found Africa have rights and they matter. It is up to the children of those landmarks to take pride, custody, responsibility and accountability so to be able to solve our own problems that still need to solve. One people, One Zimbabwe.

What has happened in the past cannot be shelved, the truth shall set you free

Zimbabwe is a country caught up in a storm of madness that has been going on from the birth of Zimbabwe to this day and age that is 2020. This means Zimbabwe has never realised true reconciliation, Zimbabwe has never embraced Uhuru, Zimbabwe has never realised cohesion and cooperation as a nation. Understanding the above lines one is drawn to pinpoint the actual fact Zimbabwe has been hoodwinked with the delusion that it is free and a peace-loving nation, however, when the veil has been removed one is allowed to behold what lies behind the veil is a dictatorship, persecution of free thinkers and the suppression of freedom of expression among many red tapes that have been placed by the ZanuPF led government.

This leads one to discuss and divulge critically the recent comments made by the Vice President Mr Kembo Mohadi. This is yet another embarrassment for the movement "ZanuPF" and the nation of Zimbabwe, in particular, the Ndebele nation of Zimbabwe who is still waiting for justice to be delivered to them.

A brief historical exploration before one gets to the core of the discussion. Zimbabwe was born or got her independence in 1980 after an intense liberation struggle that saw the then Rhodesian government of Ian Smith had to force the liberation movements "ZANLA and ZIPRA" to the negotiating table. Thus the Lancaster House Agreements of 1979 were born they paved way for Zimbabwe to be born. Zimbabwe by that time it had two main political movements these are ZAPU and ZANU. ZAPU was led by Nkomo and ZANU was led by Mugabe. Digging deeper with this essay one stumbles upon an existential crisis that rocked Zimbabwe in one's observation it can be termed as the "megalomaniac crisis" this is to say Mugabe had one goal and one goal only to eliminate all those who threatened his hegemony in controlling Zimbabwe by any means necessary, however, it is not only Mugabe but it is within the movement "ZanuPF" in itself those who were around Mugabe at that time were in cahoots with the goal. The elephant in the room was Nkomo in one's observation. This then led to Nkomo's dismissal from the cabinet of Mugabe and he was later pushed into exile by Mugabe.

At that time 1980 to 1986 there was an aura of mistrust between the two political leaders "Mugabe and Nkomo". There were frequent calls for the guerillas to be conscripted into the new Zimbabwe National Army that was a hybrid of ZANLA, ZIPRA and RNA. However, the ZANLA fighters some were not willing to lay down their arms until a particular or certain demand was met that they wanted, there were talks of representation of the government, ethnic representation of the government of that time. The majority were Shona speaking and English speaking and there a few Ndebele speakers. This then meant that the needs of the people in Matebeleland were in danger of not being met by the government.

The stalling of the administration led to growing suspicion of those who went into the bushes representing  ZANLA and the government of Mugabe. This culminated in the military arms cache to be found around the farms that were owned by ZAPU. This then sparked the wrath of Mugabe, some schools of thought suggest that this was the outlet that Mugabe and his cronies where looking for to use to subdue Nkomo and his posey. To some an extent, it does make sense because what other means a megalomaniac would look for unless there is someone or something that could be manipulated to meet the demands of the political elite of Zimbabwe who are hellbound to curb all threats to create a hegemony that is meant to emulate the Kim dynasty of North Korea. This then saw the expulsion of Nkomo from the cabinet a few months later this then saw the invasion of Matebeleland by the infamous fifth brigade, thus then birthed Gukurahundi as it is known to this day.

To set the record straight and dispelling some of the myths that have been peddled by the ZanuPF government through its state-owned mouthpieces. They have created a narrative of saying that Gukurahundi was a civil war between Shona people and Ndebele people. In one's view, that is a farce and a lie. Before one dives deeper into the reasons, one is expected to acknowledge the fact that indeed as any society with or when people who do not speak the same language meet or come across each other there is going to be a moment of bumping of heads which is normal. However, the way the ZanuPF government painted as if there were Shona people versus Ndebele people, trying to find a commonality with the Rwandan Genocide. In clearing the air in one's perspective; Mugabe had the key to control the 5th Brigade that is to say the military wing answered to Mugabe only and only him. As history dictates that the 5th brigade descended in Matebeleland, this then means that logically noting Mugabe descended on Nkomo in an indirect way. To further buttress the motion, the farm invasions of 2000/01 were charged by the war veterans, they only answered to Mugabe, the 2008 rerun election violence the MDC supporters who terrorised by the death squads of Mugabe and ZanuPF answered to Mugabe and his cronies, finally, the recent attacks on persons such as Hopewell Chin'ono, Jacob Ngarivhume, Tsitsi Dangarembga among other names. One can see it is the same tactics of 1982 to 1986 of pacifying all those who have been seen are against the ZanuPF government. Drifting back to submitting to the point that Mugabe was the one who brought death and calamity to Matebeleland, not Shona people. The reason being Mugabe wanted to put Nkomo into his place and he would not cause him any problems for the longest time. As it is evident from 1986 to 1999 Nkomo was more of like a ceremonial president who would take up the steering wheel when Mugabe was absent.

The foundation of this article has been established one move over to the next point of discussion. That is rebuking, vehemently refuting and sadly smacking the face and start wagging their heads in debating with the Vice President Mr Kembo Mohadi. This then leads one to quote the statesman; the statesman in an article from the Online newspaper, News Zimbabwe dot com (NewZimbabwe.com). the media company wrote an article based on the utterances made by the statesman. Upon engaging with the article indeed it carries sentiments of hope basing from the echoes made by the statesman. Be that as it may in all honesty when one pays attention to the outrageous crime that was exhibited in the 80s by the Mugabe regime such historical crimes cannot be shelved.

They cannot be shelved because this results and leaves to a lot of unanswered questions, basically what the statesman is saying is the same rhetoric as his colleague President Mnangagwa who came out to the people at a rally in numerous occasions saying, "let bygones be bygones". Frankly noting how can one say such a sweeping statement to someone who is still weeping to this day asking themselves what crime have they done that has led to the demise of their loved ones. The adverse dangers of such sweeping statements where officials take to the podium and utter such statements are that they themselves are peddling division within a fractured nation. That is to say the anger does not end with the persons who saw first hand the toxic wave of the 5th Brigade it is then passed on to the next generation, thus a cycle has been birthed, a cycle of doom and gloom. Cascading further this then will and has already led to pockets within the Matebeleland to slowly charge the motion and idea of breaking Zimbabwe in half along the Gwaai-Shangaan river. Thus where an autonomous Ndebele nation is and would be birthed. This all emanates from the utterances from such officials who are expected to hold honest dialogue with the nation and are bold enough to call a spade, a spade who are bold enough to accept that what happened in the past was and should never ever happen in a sovereign nation of great prestige such as Zimbabwe. The statements from Mr Mohadi, to one who has never witnessed Gukurahundi and had to make the individual investigation of reading articles one gets to establish that it was a dark time for Zimbabwe. Where greed and autocracy had fueled nothing but death and destruction in the newly born Southern African nation. One quotes from the statesman words as they have been transcribed by the article, "There are some people who say there has been Gukurahundi, there has been that, but who has not wronged the other?", indeed we all have errored and we all make mistakes. That is part of growing as a nation and as a community, however, paying attention to the fundamentals of reconciliation, one has to acknowledge the fact that being honest with oneself is the first step to redemption that is to say, would one want the fellow to carry on for four decades silently weeping and eventually dying without receiving any apology and witnessing those who were the architects of the massacre being brought to book. In any democratic society that is seeking healing and progression, there needs to be an open dialogue where all the immunities have to be placed aside and the people deal with the real problems in the nation. The article further discusses that "Survivors of the atrocities are still demanding the government to come clean on its role in the darkest period of post-independence Zimbabwe...". The country that has led and dealt with such a horrific event in her past in Rwanda. She witnessed her own children being engulfed by the storm of tribal violence that eventually led to a genocide. She "Rwanda" embraced the journey of reconciliation and has gone to great strides in embracing the past and looking forward to the future. Through embracing the areas where the genocide was hot, to this day the victims of the genocide bones are placed in museums where people can walk in and get a sense of the madness that had engulfed Rwanda. In Zimbabwe has that been achieved paying attention to the sweeping statements from Mr Mohadi and Mr Mnangagwa and the late Mr Mugabe who went on to lead a nation without even acknowledging what happened in 1982 to 1986 even to his dying days he never sought peace with the people he harmed. Their tacit reaction over and about the massacre is a tale-tell sign of who and what they are as statesmen, rather the whole movement of ZanuPF that it is not brave enough to sit down and be honest with the people. The reasoning as one interprets their slow or ignorant approach of embracing what happened in 1982 to 1986 is that they know that their influence will be diminished and will depreciate by the snap of a finger. Indeed the influence of the movement has depreciated ever since the turn of the new decade it is only a matter of time once and for all Zimbabwe and SADC and the rest of Africa will witness the downfall of the movement that has lost all credibility in its own backyard "emphasis added".

The statesman further embraced the truth that, Zimbabweans are one irrespective of their cultural and ethnic background we are one which in actual fact is the truth. However, the failure to address the first crime against humanity in Zimbabwe indicates that they want the hate and rage and madness to carry on in the landlocked country. Mr Mohadi further says, "We want a united nation, hence where there is unity there is the development..." the rhetoric carries a Nelson Mandela like aura that discusses freedom and cohesion. This then led to the birth of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Africa, the idea or theory does make sense and sounds all rosy and showed hope that in the madness a new nation was born. Years and decades on the same wounds are still bleeding the wounds that have and where thought to have been healed they are still bleeding. That is to note that the black South African was and is the recipient of the short end of the stick. Skipping the Limpopo landing in Zimbabwe that is the same sentiments rather aura in Zimbabwe that the Ndebele nation is receiving the short end of the stick. The nation is being told hey get over it, it happened some decades ago. This in turn is an insult to the victim and is an embarrassment to the people of Zimbabwe who have been given the moniker peace-loving nation. Which is a farce, the Zimbabwean has been living in fear and tyranny where the oligarchs are the ones who are enjoying the peace and tranquillity of Zimbabwe while the rest is cowering in fear and pain. Thus this echoes the fundamentals of genuine reconciliation in Zimbabwe not the farce Zimbabweans and the rest of the world are made to witness every day. Furthermore, one conceptualises the madness that has been embraced by Zimbabweans by the elite this then means that the elite themselves are not making swift action in addressing the whole issue they themselves have been talking and discussing about the Gukurahundi commission being led by chiefs. The Chiefs themselves in ones view are not taking swift action, that is to say, do they understand the vitality of leading the charge and bringing peace in Zimbabwe or it is a bunch of old people who are just being made to sit down and nod their heads while a bunch of useless information is being dished out to them. Some key players within the Chief's council are ZanuPF cronies who parade their loyalty in front of the nation but when one sits down and listens to what is being said by the "chief " it's another jester in the king's court or its another towns fool parading naked just to put a smile on a greed madened king.

The premise of this article is to discuss the point that, "what has happened in the past cannot be shelved" there is a Zezuru (Shona) proverb that says "rina manyanga hariputirwi" translation, "the horns cannot be covered". It is evident in many facets rather historical hallmarks that have happened in Zimbabwe, the first instance was Gukurahundi 1982 to 1986, The Farm Invasions 2000 to 2001, a supposed third war for land was waged was in one's view one witnessed the death of all rights in Zimbabwe; The Operation Murambatsvina of 2005, The 2008 economical meltdown, The 2008 political election rerun violence, The State-sponsored abductions that have been happening from time immemorial, The Itai Dzamara among others missing person commission, the White City Stadium Bombing, the Mr Mnangagwa alleged poisoning of 2017, the January to Feb 2019 violence and finally the 2020 COVID19 state-sanctioned curfew and arrests of persons such as Tsitsi Dangarembga, Hopewell Chin'ono among others and finally "pardon the repetition" the attack of MDC in an attempt to form a passive opposition that yields to the wants and needs of ZanuPF.

To conclude this essay  it can be noted that independence has not yet been realised in Zimbabwe. What has happened in the past cannot be shelved, the truth shall set you free.
